Otherwise known as an “iron spider”. Something a little morbid for the darker collectors. These contraptions were originally used as a form of t*rture against women and became widely used in Germany during the 1500s. They were often heated up before use, and sometimes secured to a wall, before being plunged into the breast tissue and torn away.
Most iron spiders examples are now housed within museums.
Warm patination and gorgeous texture to surface. Sharp crescent shaped prongs. Obviously for collector purposes only.
Wrought iron “Ripper”. Circa 15th century.
