Millière had an undeniable success in the commercial field. He was awarded a gold medal in 1931 at the L'Exposition Coloniale. Millière played an important role in establishing the genre of boudoir art. He died in 1946 at the age of 74.

Published between 1863 and 1970 with heavy influences of the Art Deco movement. Having been strongly advised to avoid the publication, It became increasingly popular with American soldiers during the war.
