Original Front cover plate of renowned French publication “La Vie Parisienne”. 18th August 1928. Illustrated By Georges Leonnec (1881 - 1940) A french cartoonist and brother to novelist Felix Leonnec. 

 

The scene depicts a gentleman wooing a woman who perches on the side. Pretending to play his tennis racket like an instrument. She seems flattered. "Chamber Music" titled with accompanying text "accompany me to the alter first... we will see the guitar then"

Published between 1863 and 1970 with heavy influences of the Art Deco movement. Having been strongly advised to avoid the publication, It became increasingly popular with American soldiers during the war.
